Matt MacKenzie co-founded RESULTS Basketball in 2011 with a mission to combine his teaching skills & basketball background to develop fundamental to advanced basketball players throughout the state of Maine and beyond. Since then, Matt has helped guide a number of youth, high school, collegiate and professional basketball players. 

MacKenzie coached at the collegiate level for 9 seasons from 2010-2019 while teaching physical education in public schools, before stepping down to open Eastern Maine Sports Academy in 2020. 

Matt was a four-year letter winner as a member of the Husson University men’s basketball team from 2007-10. He tallied 1,300 points and 565 rebounds over his career. As a senior captain, MacKenzie helped guide the Eagles to the program’s first NAC Championship and berth to the NCAA DIII National Championship tournament in 2009, while being named the NAC Tournament MVP, 1st Team All-Conference, and 1st Team All-Maine. 

Coach MacKenzie was an all-state player at Medomak Valley High School where he is still a top 5 scorer in the school's history and was recently inducted into the Mid-Coast Maine Sports Hall of Fame.

 

Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Husson University and Masters Degree in Athletic Administration from the University of Arkansas. He earned his NSCA Certification in Strength & Conditioning in 2014.

He and his wife, Erin live in Holden, Maine with their children Lennie and Charlie.

Coach Baxter co-founded RESULTS in 2011 with the mission of using his teaching background and extensive hoops knowledge to help develop the fundamental skills of Maine's youth basketball players. Mark brings over 20 years of coaching experience to RESULTS Basketball.

 

Baxter started his coaching career at the high school level with successful stints as a varsity coach at Central Aroostook High School and Fort Kent High School.

 

Since then, Coach Baxter has been heavily involved with collegiate athletics. He served as the Assistant Coach of Men's Basketball at Husson University from 2007-2010, coaching the Eagles to a NAC Championship and 1st trip to the NCAA Tournament in program history in 2009.

 

At Husson, Mark was in charge of recruiting, scouting, and practice plans for all post players. He recruited two eventual 1000 point scorers to Husson, and helped develop 3 NAC 1st team selections during his time with the Eagles.

 

Mark has worked as an advanced scout/consultant for several collegiate basketball programs across the country, and has worked on staff at many elite basketball camps including Adidas ABCD, Nike Elite, and Five Star Basketball Camp.

Mark taught public school for over 20 years, before opening The Forge Training Center in Ellsworth in 2022 - making this his full time career. He sees nearly 100 local athletes on a weekly basis.

Mark lives in Ellsworth with his wife Bree, and two kids Isaac and Tyrus.
